Meeting of the GEReSH-CAM steering and scientific monitoring committees in Kep
5 – 7 June 2018
The Cambodian members of the steering and scientific monitoring committees gathered in Kep, Cambodia, from the 5th to the 7th of June, 2018, in order to discuss further activities of the project.
On June 5th, the scientific monitoring committee gathered to review the project’s current progress and submitted a work plan proposal.
The committee was composed of:
Dr. Joseph THACH, project coordinator (INALCO-IRD)
Ms. Claire TOVAR, project officer (IRD)
Dr. Soth SOK, Dean of the Faculty of Education (RUPP)
Dr. Dara NON, Head of the Languages Department (RUFA)
Dr. Ratha NY, French language teachers trainer (NIE)
On June 6th, the objectives included discussing links between Research and Education, and proposing a major-minor system to be implemented for the first time in Cambodia at RUPP.
On the last day, the meeting was chaired by HE. Chet Chealy, Rector of RUPP, HE. Bong Sovath, Rector of RUFA, and HE. Sieng Sovanna, President of NIE. Mr. Veng Chhang, Director of Studies Office, and Dr. Keuk Chan Narith, Research coordinator at the English Department, from RUPP took part in the discussions. The work plan proposal was introduced, and this led to setting the priorities and the results to be achieved before the next annual consortium meeting in Brussels in October 2018.
This occasion also gave the committee a chance to reflect upon the procedure of Prakas (inter-ministerial decision) for the official establishment of the future Research Center.
