This end of the year is marked by a key event for the GEReSH-CAM project, which has made a quantum leap in the creation of its Inter-Institutional Research Center for Higher Education in Human and Social Sciences that constitutes the culmination and materialization of three years of fruitful cooperation between Europe and Cambodia.

On December 17th, the Agreement between the three Cambodian Higher Education institutions for the creation of the Research Center has been signedin the presence of HE the Minister of Education, HE the Minister of Culture, HE the Ambassador of the EU, the Ambassador of France, the President of the INALCO.

The Royal University of Phnom Penh, the Royal University of Fine Arts and the National Institute of Education have committed themselves to follow this policy framework, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.

In the short term, this center will allow the pooling of material resources and skills between the three institutions of higher education and will give visibility to Cambodian research on the international scene. In the long term, it will be a lever for promoting the culture of Humanities and Social Sciences research in Cambodia, by strengthening training and structuring research.

It is therefore after two years of implementation and following the Framework Agreement on the establishment of the interuniversity center in Human Sciencessigned on December 6, 2017 in Riga (LV), that the GEReSH-CAM project reaches a new milestone in its implementation and ensures, by this Agreement signature, the commitment of higher education and institutional structures for the creation of an SHS Research Center in Cambodia.
