The workshop on “Methodology of research in: language and education issues, languages and cultures teaching, literacy” is held at the National Institute of Education in Phnom Penh from 20th to 22nd February 2019.
This workshop is coordinated by Mr. NY Ratha and Mrs. SENG Kimha from NIE, Mr. Nith Bunlay and Mr. Penh Sokha from MoEYS on the Cambodian side, and Mr. Joseph Thach, Ms Naoil Bendrimia and Mr. Thomas Szende from National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), Mrs.Elena Vladimirska and Mrs.Jelena Gridina from University of Latvia (UL), Mr. Dainius Vaitiekunas and Mr. Loïc Boizou from University of Vytautas Magnus (VMU) (Lithuania) on the European side.
A call for expressions of interest has been released three weeks before the workshop in order to identify undergraduate & Master students, PhD students, professors, and researchers with educational or re-search activities in the field of social and human sciences in the Cam-bodian HEIs and Ministries staff who want to attend this workshop and to highlight their expectations.
Considering the answers to this call, the participants will attend the three full days for discovering theories and approaches of learning and teaching on language, education, culture teaching, and literacy and then they will work on practice workshop.
This workshop will be animated by the speakers from INALCO,UL, NIE, URPP and VMU: Mr. Thomas Szende (INALCO), Ms.Elena Vladimirska (UL), Ms.Jelena Gridina (UL), Mr. Dainius Vaitiekunas (VMU), Mr. Loïc Boizou (VMU), Mr. Mao Saroeun (NIE), Mr. Sok Serey (URPP).
The training workshop has the following objectives:
Sharing knowledge on the theories and approaches of learning and teaching on language, education and culture teaching to general education institutions and higher education institutions as members of the project;
Develop capacity on methodology and data analysis, research tools and operations;
Learn to understand what the participants are expecting from the language and educational methods, the teaching of languages and the culture and literature in their learning and teaching and their research;
Identify current and future needs and challenges for learners on language learning and educational issues; teaching language and culture and literacy;
Provide a forum for undergraduate and graduate Master students, PhD students, professors, and researchers to discuss learning and teaching language acquisition: needs and challenges in the intercultural and research context.
